Can You Really Become Inactive Instead of DA'ing and Keep Your Family
by truth-or-consequences inoz branch coordinator terrence o'brien opined a number of times at about 1:00:00 until about 1:15:00 of his testimony, that a dub does not need to da, they can become "inactive.".
i sent our beloved angus stewart my personal experience, as well as observations about official borg teachings.
(he replied in short order.).

I am not DF'd or DA'd, but do not go to meetings, or anything JW..... I am basically "left alone." My mom won't give me her cell phone #, my sisters don't call me or e-mail me (though they did not do that much ANYway... I was always the 'caller'.) -

Geoffery Jackson Plan Against the Commission
by thedepressedsoul ingeoffrey jackson will attempt to df them all, shun them, take away their privileges, write a wt article on them, have the elders talk to them, their family cut off ties with them, read them watchtower articles, tell them they need to submit at least 10 hours per month etc... .
then, the "oh shit" look on his face moment when he realizes he has no power outside of his pinky ring club.

Regarding Marvin's comment:
It's not safe ground and by past accounts GB members who've ventured specific views that were yet to be adopted by the GB found themselves in hot water. But Jackson is going to be front and center, and the GB must know the video is going to go viral among the JW and ex-JW community no matter what he says.
It may also be a an Ace held in his hand.... If he is asked questions that cause his answers to "go against the grain" he WILL be on video, there will 'relatively' be no way to spin what he said (it will be on the internet, haha) (and yes, there is always a spin, but for the person who wants the bottom line, it will be there in black and white).
In the past, when others went to court, the transcripts may have been harder, more expensive to find...
Nowadays, in this information age, people are aware of how to look court cases up, get transcripts, search the net, etc.

Luke, you will never regret that bond and memories you made with your son... I think the only thing that kids think about is "My dad was there!" and they all want their dads to be proud of them.... He will treasure this!

Exposing one's identity. When?
by kairos ini've been toying with the idea of just coming out and posting my name and location as an attempt to be available to locals that secretly browse the forum that have known me for up to 25 years.
( "reaching out", so to speak ).
i'm not da'd or df'd, so this most certainly could end in a dramatic confrontation.

Hi Kairos, nice to hear what's going on... tho it is stressful, yes...
It is hard to not get emotional... I myself think, "what if I saw so and so?" I hope that I will be able to think of them as a "deck of cards"... like Alice in Wonderland. When she realized they were a silly, powerless pile of paper, they had no hold, no power.
I am not sure that 'suing' will work... from what I hear, for slander, you have to have something that you can prove the defamation has cost you a loss of money in terms of work, defaming your name? I think, in practical terms, you would have to find out the law before you tell them you will 'take them to court,' as I am not sure what you CAN do, right?
Hang in there, remember your wife, and your life is more important than they are, and this whole "We want to meet with you" is going to take time away from your wife... It could cause turmoil... so the calmer you are, the better. Don't let them distract you.... Keep your goals.... Your life, your marriage, and don't let them get you 'started.'
So sorry, it is so hard to go through this... You are a nice guy, with a good heart, and don't ever let them take that away from you... Keep up your self esteem, you are worth it!

Maybe the Royal Commission's efforts have spurred on the U.S into taking a look at abuse within JWville.... Sounds as tho there will be an "ongoing" investigation, right?
"The Jehovah’s Witnesses leadership has created sophisticated strategies to conceal allegations of sexual abuse. Witnesses instruct local elders to keep claims of molestation private, internal documents show, all the while collecting detailed information on predators in their ranks.
For abuse victims, this can mean enduring a variety of hardships, such as being ignored by leaders and shunned by family and friends. Based on Reveal reporter Trey Bundy’s ongoing investigation, here are five issues victims have encountered."

Anon2, you are brilliant! Well played!
Really, it reminds me of when my children were little, and they needed to have a well rounded diet. Perhaps they were not interested in eating 'different' things. It was for their benefit to not be "restricted" in the food that they ate.
All I needed to do was smack my lips, say mmmmmmm..... and not offer it to them, and their brains started to change. If I DID offer them anything, it was just a teeny, tiny bit... as if I was not that interested in having them eat it....
Results? A healthy diet.
Brilliant!

"And what happened next was simply unbelievable!"
by Terry ini always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.
i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.
so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

All I can say is "Good job Terry!"
It is very hard to think on the spur of the moment, your heart starts beating, and as you said "your brain turns to mush".... I can feel it.
To help someone get out of their cognitive dissonance, you must help them put their brain in another place, feel reallity. This may just be the one little crack in their dam, that may free their brains, and they will one day say thanks! Right? So many have...
Good job!

Billy's comments to the RC #1 - "We always require at least two witnesses... except for when we don't."
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite ini'm still trying to catch up on the rc broadcast posted to youtube, and i haven't been able to keep up with everything discussed here about it.
however, there have been a few points that i wish i could submit.
repeatedly it has been stated that unless there is a confession, jcs can only act on testimony if it is corroborated by two or more witnesses to the wrongdoing.

Thanx Billy, the WT has never held to "What's black is black, what is white is white"
Can we all remember the 'What does 3 1/2 mean?"
*** re chap. 27 p. 184 par. 26 God’s Kingdom Is Born! ***
26 How long did this respite for the seed of God’s woman last? Revelation 12:6 says 1,260 days. Revelation 12:14 calls the period a time, times, and half a time; in other words, three and a half times. In fact, both expressions stand for three and a half years, extending in the Northern Hemisphere from the spring of 1919 to the autumn of 1922. This was a period of refreshing recuperation and reorganization for the restored John class.
*** ts chap. 18 pp. 155-156 Why Many Now Living Have Opportunity Never to Die ***” For example, Revelation 11:2 speaks of a period of “forty-two months,” or three and a half years. In the next verse the same period is mentioned as being “a thousand two hundred and sixty days.” Now, if you were to divide 1,260 days by 42 months, you would get 30 days for each month. A year of 12 months would therefore be 360 days long. On this basis, “seven times,” or seven years, would be 2,520 days long (7 x 360).*** re chap. 25 p. 168 Reviving the Two Witnesses ***Notice that in examining the experiences of God’s people at this time, it appears that while the 42 months represent a literal three and a half years, the three and a half days do not represent a literal period of 84 hours. Likely, the specific period of three and a half days is mentioned twice (in verses 9 and 11) to highlight that it would be only a short period compared with the actual three and a half years of activity that precede it.
